Meet your therapist
I'm Gina (Sagrilla) Schumann, the owner of Small Talk Speech Therapy. As a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, I have been working with children of all ages for over 15 years in a variety of settings, from inpatient hospitals to schools, servicing preschoolers through high school students.
My specialties include articulation/speech production, early intervention/late talkers, receptive and expressive language delays/disorders, fluency (stuttering), Autism/gestalt language processing and parent/caregiver training
I am licensed in the state of Ohio and hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). I earned my master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Akron and completed my Clinical Fellowship at Kennedy Krieger Institute (a Johns Hopkins affiliate) in Baltimore, MD.
I strongly believe in a collaborative approach to speech and language treatment. As a mom of two, I understand that caregivers are not just observers, they are essential partners in the process. From day one, I work closely with families to ensure they feel supported, informed, and actively involved every step of the way. With extensive training and experience, I am well-equipped to assess your child's needs and help maximize their communication outcomes.
